Support the work of the Knoebel Institute for Healthy Aging

The Knoebel Institute has had an incredibly productive year and with more funding we can expand our scope of work and increase faculty and student involvement. Below is a list of our needs. Any contribution helps us to meet our mission and vision, so we thank your for your support. Please click here to support KIHA.

Immediate needs, listed in order of need

Student Research Training Fund. We have a large group of students involved in our interdisciplinary research at KIHA, and are constantly expanding our scope to provide students with training and education. Ongoing studies are related to concussion, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and healthy aging.

Junior Faculty Recruitment and Development Fund. Funding is needed to recruit three world-class scientists investigating the neuroscience of Aging. Funds are requested to match complement departmental startup packages and salary support in order to attract the most high impact scientists to DU.

Equipment Fund. State-of-the-art equipment is a necessity for conducting high impact research. We have implemented an equipment committee but we are looking for partnership in the community to fund new equipment that will enhance and expand the research endeavor.

Education Coordinator. Coordinator needed for intergenerational and workforce development programs. This individual will support Dr. Leslie Hasche and Dr. Nancy Lorenzon and will administer programs, evaluate student suitability for placement in the programs, and evaluate program outcome, customer satisfaction, and older adult mentor quality of life improvement.

In addition, KIHA offers various naming opportunities that enable donors to leave a permanent mark on our programs and facilities at different price points. Please contact KIHA for more information on these opportunities.
