The Korbel Dinner is the school's premier event and honors Josef Korbel, the founder and first dean of our school. Each year, the Korbel Dinner features an internationally-prominent keynote speaker and honors people who have made a global impact. The philanthropic impact of the Korbel Dinner benefits our school's programs, scholarships and research centers, which are designed to serve our students and the community at large.

Vice President Joe BidenSPECIAL GUEST AND SPEAKER

For the first time in our event's 19-year history, we welcome a sitting Vice President to our campus. We are honored to welcome the 47th Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden, as our special guest and speaker

With decades of foreign policy experience in the United States Senate, include serving as Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Vice President Biden advises President Obama on international issues. 

Vice President Biden has been at the forefront of issues and legislation related to terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, post-Cold War Europe, the Middle East and Southwest Asia.  He has represented our country in every region of the world, traveling to more than two dozen countries including: Afghanistan, Belgium, Brazil, China, Colombia, Egypt, Germany, Guatemala, Israel, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Pakistan, Poland, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey and Ukraine.

Carrie and John Morgridge, founders of the Morgridge Family Foundation, will receive the Josef Korbel School's Humanitarian Award for their longstanding philanthropic commitment to global issues of education, health and wellness, poverty and the arts.

Kent Thiry, Chairman and CEO of DaVita, will receive the University's International Bridge Builders Award for achievements in building ties between Colorado and the international community.
