Caroline

Caroline is currently pursuing an MA in International Studies with a Certificate in Humanitarian Assistance. Her interests include civil-military coordination in humanitarian crises and security risk management of humanitarian operations.

Prior to attending the Josef Korbel School, Caroline completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan where she received a BA in Public Policy in 2014. She became particularly interested in refugee issues while serving as a volunteer for the International Rescue Committee.

Upon graduation, Caroline commissioned as a Military Intelligence Officer in the United States Army. She participated in training exercises and deployments to Southeast Asia, Europe, the Arabian Peninsula, and Afghanistan. She hopes to use these experiences to better understand humanitarian field operations while also having a thorough view of the inherent dangers of operating in war-torn regions.
