Humanitarian Assistance Student Emma Dunn

Emma Dunn is a M.A. candidate in International Development with a certificate in Humanitarian Assistance and International Law. She plans on combining these two interests in the field of forced migration issues, specifically in regions of protracted conflict.

Before coming to Korbel, Emma lived in Medellín, Colombia where she worked with the Municipal Unit for Attention and Reparation to Victims of Armed Conflict. Her most recent work involved issues of return and she participated in a National research initiative to duplicate the Medellín Program of Return in other parts of the country.  Prior to living in Colombia, she spent nine months in South Africa working in a rural village as part of a pilot research trip and then interning as a Policy, Communications and Research officer with the non-profit advocacy group, Equal Education.

Emma holds a BA in International Relations from the University of San Diego and is originally from Sacramento, California. She is also a Sié Fellow at Korbel conducting research in external support for non-violent campaigns.
