Humanitarian Assistance Student Gabriel Garcia

Gabriel Garcia is an MA candidate in international security at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver, with a certificate in Humanitarian Assistance. His main interests include diplomacy, humanitarian assistance, and counterterrorism.

Before joining the Korbel School, Gabriel spent six years living in Latin America, part of which were spent volunteering teaching English in Gandoca, Costa Rica, and in Isnos, Colombia. Gabriel first became interested in humanitarian assistance during his time interning at the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor in Western Hemisphere Affairs (DRL-WHA) where he participated in various meetings with the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) and USAID.

Gabriel completed his undergraduate studies at University of Texas –Pan American with a BS in Political Science and a BA in History.
