Josie Mudjitaba

Josephine (Josie) Mudjitaba is an M.A. Josiecandidate in International Human Rights at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies with a certificate in Humanitarian Assistance. Josie intends to focus on anti-human trafficking and gender-based violence issues. She is currently working at the Department of Justice and volunteering at the Blue Bench as a Sexual Assault Hotline advocate.


Prior to her studies at the Josef Korbel School, Josie spent 15 years in the financial/IT industry focusing on training and development. She also served in Costa Rica as a Peace Corps Volunteer. She gained firsthand experience and witnessed the consequences of social injustice and inequality on individuals and communities; this experience sparked her decision to make a career change. Josie is passionate in advocating for human rights, education, and gender equality in marginalized communities.


Josie graduated with a B.S. in Finance & International Business from the Smith School of Business, University of Maryland College Park.
