Humanitarian Assistance Student Sandy Pham

Sandy Pham is an M.A. candidate in International Development with a certificate in Humanitarian Assistance at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. Sandy has particular interests refugee studies and immigrants’ rights.

Prior to coming to Korbel, Sandy worked at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency while volunteering to mentor refugees from Togo and Burma.  Sandy also taught ESL to local elementary students across three counties in North Carolina. During her undergraduate career, Sandy studied abroad in Vietnam and investigated developing economic programs in the central region while observing the effects of industrial development and migration on rural Vietnamese communities.

Originally from North Carolina, Sandy graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies with a concentration in Political Science and double major in Psychology.
