Alexis Senger is a Senior Fellow and lecturer at the Institute for Public Policy Studies in the Josef Korbel School of International Studies. She has taught Public Management & Budgeting in the Graduate Program in Public Policy as well as Great Issues Forums. Alexis served two Colorado governors from 2007 to 2017, most recently advising Governor Hickenlooper on higher education budgets and policies. Prior to the Hickenlooper Administration, Alexis advised Governor Ritter on a range of issues including state General Fund budget balancing and policy changes to address recidivism in the criminal justice system. Alexis spent over 15 years as Chief Analyst for the Joint Budget Committee in the Colorado General Assembly. Prior to her work in Colorado, Alexis worked for the Texas Research League, an educational public-private think-tank. Ms. Senger received her Master of Public Affairs degree from Lyndon B. Johnson School at the University of Texas at Austin. Alexis was named an American Marshall Memorial Fellow with the German Marshall Fund of the United States in 2003.
