Korbel in Geneva

Participants

Korbel in Geneva is a study abroad opportunity for master's degree students at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies. Each year, up to ten students will spend six months in Geneva, Switzerland as part of an academic exchange with the Graduate Institute for International and Development Studies. Students arrive in Geneva in June and stay through December and have the opportunity to intern at a Geneva-based organization and to complete two graduate-level courses during their stay.

Christine ColburnChristine Colburn

Christine Colburn is the Emergency Programme Support Intern for UNICEF's Regional Office for Central, Eastern Europe, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (RO CEE/CIS). Her research and communication efforts will relate directly to child protection policy and advocacy in the twenty-two countries under the office's purview, with a focus on the present humanitarian responses in Turkey and Ukraine.


Cait DavinCait Davin  

Caitlin Davin is interning at the UNHCR in the Gender Equality Unit. She is working on a report in collaboration with the Asia and Pacific Bureau to document and share good practices on gender equality, including sexual and gender‐based violence (SGBV) prevention and response interventions, the research and development of a gender equality e-learning and blended learning programme for UNHCR staff, a project developing a gender equality toolkit for UNHCR operations, the finalization of UNHCR'S Revised Commitments to Women and Girls, and the development of a UNHCR gender focal point network.


Emily MadcharoEmily Madcharo 

Emily Madcharo is interning at the International Trade Centre, a joint agency of the UN and the WTO as the External Relations intern in the Office of the Executive Director. Her work is focused on donor intelligence. Emily writes and updates donor briefs, bilateral meeting notes, and conducts research on funding mechanisms and mutual areas of interest between donors and ITC. Additionally, she is designing a new Private Sector Partnerships brochure to grow and encourage ITC engagement with the private sectors as donors and participants in ITC projects.


Caroline VeseyCaroline Vesey  

Caroline Vesey is interning at the International Code of Conduct Association in the Certification and Outreach Departments. While interning with this department Caroline has helped the research and development of auditing processes and Certification Bodies. She has also interned with the Communications and Outreach Department, during which Caroline has been planning the upcoming major annual event, the Annual General Assembly in Geneva. While interning with the Communications and Outreach Department Caroline connected with key stakeholders to promote the value of legally requiring ICoCA membership when contracting private security.


Evan WilliamsEvan Williams

Evan Williams is interning at UNCTAD in the Transportation division of the Trade Logistics Branch. He is currently working on projects related to port efficiency, sustainability, and connectivity and the use of Intelligent Transportation Systems in freight transport. He will also be working on website design and the organization of an annual conference hosted by the Transportation division of UNCTAD.
