What is your favorite LLC memory?

The retreat to the hot springs was an absolute blast! It wasn't just because of where we were, it was because that was when I realized how many amazing people there are in the Wellness LLC that I could talk to and relate with. I became aware of the strong social circle around me.

What else are you involved with on campus?

My friends and I started a club on campus called Best Buddies, that works with special needs people our age and attempts the bridge the gap between those with special needs and those without. I'm also on a darn good broom ball team!

Why did you choose to apply to the wellness LLC?

Well, I saw the picture of everyone doing yoga and I was like "ooh I love yoga!" And then I thought about how an entire community focused on wellness would really help me get through any anxieties I had coming to college for the first time. So that solidified it, and I applied.

jacobHometown: Pueblo, CO

Major(s)/ Minor(s): Biochemistry with minors in biology and writing

Graduation year: 2019

What is your favorite LLC memory?

My favorite LLC memory was during the fall retreat this year. Everyone was gathered around the campfire telling jokes and stories and it eventually broke out into horrendous harmonies of campfire songs. It was a really fun time and a cool community moment that I think really brought a lot of us together.

What else are you involved with on campus?

I am also involved with rugby, intramural sports, I'm an RA in Centennial Halls, and am involved with various pre-health events.

Why did you choose to apply to the Wellness LLC?

I chose the Wellness LLC because I was very interested in improving my overall wellness in college and was looking for a community I could immediately connect with during my freshman year.

claraHometown: Seattle, Washington

Major(s)/ Minor(s): Psychology and Sociology major; Biology, Chemistry and Wellness minor

Graduation year: 2018

What is your favorite LLC memory?

My favorite LLC memory was our first retreat of fall quarter. We had a relaxing weekend in the mountains near Jamestown, and partook in a three hour solo in the woods. The intentional isolated time with myself was extremely eye-opening, and one of the most impactful experiences of my life!

What else are you involved with on campus?

I am an Administrative Assistant in the LLC office, a volunteer for the Food Recovery Network, and a moderator for DU Sustained Dialogues.

Why did you choose to apply to the LLC?

I wanted to meet a core community of alike students to develop long-lasting friendships, as well as open my mind to new aspects of wellness I was extremely unfamiliar with.
