PSM Degree in Biomedical Sciences/Admission and Aid

The PSM in Biomedical Sciences program assumes a fairly substantial and broad background in science and math courses; thus, the program is not designed for students who lack a strong science background. The applicants will each be judged on their potential to succeed in the program. Applications are evaluated on an individual basis. The program is focused enough to ensure that students obtain necessary core scientific knowledge while allowing enough flexibility in electives so students receive a complement of educational opportunities for building professional skills.

The application will consist of:

  • University of Denver online application to the graduate school (and fee)
  • Official transcripts from all schools attended
  • 3 letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with the applicants academic or research record and potential to succeed in a rigorous scientific and professional program
  • Graduate Record Exams (GRE) or MCAT (other graduate-level entrance exams accepted by permission). The general GRE in any relevant scientific area taken within the last 3 years are required (subject GRE not required).
  • Statement of experience and interest in the PSM in Biomedical Sciences program and future career interests (up to 3 pages).
  • TOEFL and iBT as required for by the graduate school for admissions.

Students seeking admission to the PSM degree in Biomedical Sciences graduate program should have an undergraduate major in one of the biological sciences or closely related fields. Students are expected, at a minimum, to have completed undergraduate courses in general biology, general chemistry, college-level mathematics, and some advanced biology coursework.

Applicants must have ALL material submitted by March 1. Applications may be submitted later, but scholarships for the following September may no longer be available.

If you have any questions about the general application process, please contact the Office of Graduate Studies.
