Incoming Students

Here's the thing: the University's common reading program is intended to do more than give you something to talk about with your fellow classmates during your first days on campus. We designed the program to help us all reflect on who we are, where we come from, what we think about, and, most importantly, why

Before you embark upon the next four years of academic and personal growth, we want to take stock, to think about those things we value, those things we hold true, and how they inform the way we approach, interpret, and interact in the world. Only after the latter is done can the former truly commence.

Once you get to campus in the fall, there will be various opportunities for you to gather and talk with your classmates, faculty, and staff about the book. We encourage you to keep an eye out for those opportunities - you'll see them publicized around campus and via email. And be sure to respond to the One Prompt before you arrive.

If you are an incoming first-time, first-year student and have not received your copy of the book by July 24, 2017 please email onebook@du.edu
