Office of Research & Sponsored Programs

Pioneer eRA

We are excited to launch the new electronic research administration system, Pioneer eRA (Infoed) to our full research community! The following modules - Proposal Tracking, Awards Tracking, Standard Reporting and SPIN are live.

How can Pioneer eRA help you?

This system will improve grants administration efficiency and will eventually eliminate paper submission forms. With this centralized administration system, you can now do the following:

• Do a quick search of all your proposals/grants
• Track the workflow of proposals/grants
• Receive communications about status changes of your proposals/grants
• Run standard reports
• Access the largest funding opportunity database through SPIN

What's next?

We are working with InfoEd to get the Financial Tracking module functional. Once all the system integration issues have been resolved, we will beta test once again with the advisory board. We anticipate opening this module to everyone sometime this fall. Also this fall, we will begin configuration and implementation of the Proposal Development module. This implementation will involve more faculty and departmental administrators. We will be meeting with the implementation team to kick this off in October. This implementation is expected to take 6-8 months with anticipated go-live for the full community in mid to late Spring 2020. We will finalize the project implementation plan during our meetings in October/November.

We invite all principal investigators, grants administrators, and research faculty/staff to attend the trainings. These trainings are the same as those held in September for those that have already attended. The training will be approximately 45 minutes followed by Q & A. It is also an opportunity to let us know where we can focus moving forward to better support research administration. Your feedback is important to all that we do. Trainings will be provided in the following convenient formats:

• On-campus general trainings
• Departmental trainings
• Drop-in sessions at AOB every Friday between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. starting November 8. Please email Aparna to RSVP.
• Online user guides
