Get a New Pioneer ID Card

All undergraduate, graduate, non-traditional, and Colorado Women's College students are entitled to a Pioneer ID Card.

You can avoid long lines during orientation by submitting your ID photo online! Our office is typically open special hours during your orientation event or your first day of classes. Please see your department or admissions office for more information.

In order to receive a card you must present a photo ID, have paid your admissions deposit, and be within 30 days from the beginning of your accepted term.

Mailing ID Cards: If you would like your ID Card mailed to you, please submit a photo online through the link above. You will receive a first email stating we have received your photo and it is being processed. After processing is complete, you will receive a second automated email saying your photo has been accepted. After that, either reply to that email or write to and request we mail your ID Card. You will need to include:

  • Full Name
  • Mailing Address
  • DU ID Number
  • Date of Birth

Online/Distance Learning Students

Please submit your photo online or email us at if possible, as these methods are much easier to use during Covid-19 restrictions. Graduate students enrolled in a online or distance learning program may download and print a Pioneer ID Card Request form. Simply complete the form, attach a photo, and mail it in. Please use this form ONLY if you are an online or distance learning student and are currently enrolled. If you submit the form as any other type of student your card will not be mailed, nor will the form and picture be returned to you. Once your paperwork is processed, we will mail your Pioneer ID Card to the current mailing address on your DU records.

Faculty & Staff

All staff and faculty, including non-benefited and adjunct faculty, are entitled to a Pioneer ID Card.

In order to receive a card you must present a photo ID, your hiring paperwork must be completed, and your job information must be in the Banner system.

Please call 303-871-4545 ahead of time to make sure you are all set before coming over.
