Online, self-paced
Access to course content will begin on July 1, 2019.
Enrolled students will have until December 6, 2019, to complete course material.

Teachers are some of our nation’s most creative people, but there are limited opportunities that provide training to translate this creativity to effective curriculum that authentically engages students. Many teachers need a practical professional development course that will positively impact their immediate pedagogical needs.

Join Professor Gillian McNally for this online, self-paced course that provides the tools you need to build a comprehensive curriculum to better engage your students and foster meaningful learning communities. Create a thorough curriculum including course objectives, essential questions, lesson plans, assessment, evaluation, and needed research to implement the course in their classrooms. Using Understanding by Design (Wiggins and McTighe) as a curriculum model, students will learn best practices for curriculum design. Participants will conduct interviews with experienced educators in the field, research national and international curriculum samples, and analyze and develop new curriculum.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completing this course, students will be able to:
  • Generate a new comprehensive curriculum.
  • Increase knowledge of national and international curriculum through research.
  • Reflect and analyze personal curriculum practice.
