Grant Writing Certificate

This course provides a focused overview of grant writing for non-profits. Examines development reference tools (paper, electronic, and online), websites, structuring and writing the funding request, community collaboration and partnerships, project budgeting, management, evaluation, sustainability, and reporting activities. Students will be encouraged to collaborate in the design of projects and programs for which grant funds can be solicited.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completing this course, students will be able to:
  • Identify potential funding strategies for grant writing activities.
  • Organize and manage the proposal development process.
  • Establish and encourage representative community participation on local development teams.
  • Compile relevant research, standards and Internet resources to support funding activities.
  • Prepare a comprehensive grant proposal

works as a consultant and expert witness for patent attorneys. Her work focuses on authenticity and public availability of prior art for filings before the United States Patent Office Board and federal district courts. A member of a variety of professional organizations, she is listed in several editions of regional and national bibliographic volumes.

She has published numerous technical reports, articles, and monographs and has conducted major field-based research
