Introduction to 3D Modeling with Blender

Do want to learn how to 3D print? Make video games? Learn 3D modeling? Then this class is for you! This class explores the very basics of Blender, an open source, 3D modeling / graphics program that is incredibly powerful at no cost to you. In this class you will learn how to use blender for CAD purposes (such as 3D printing, tool making, or architectural modeling), environmental design (for video games), or for any purpose you wish.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completing this course, students will be able to:
  • Analyze the basics and theory of 3D modeling and design
  • Use Blender for CAD projects
  • Create your own video game level/environment or multiple 3D printing ready modeled products by the end of the course
  • Use Blender for environmental design

Students can expect to have access to course content in Canvas, University of Denver’s online learning platform, on July 12, 2021 or within one week of enrollment, whichever is later. Enrolled students will have until December 13, 2021 to complete course material. Enrollment for this course will close on November 22, 2021 to allow for adequate completion time.
