Are you interested in big data? Artificial intelligence? But you don't know where to start? This is the class for you! Python is an incredibly versatile language capable of many things related to data! This class is an introduction to python or computer programming in general. This class is meant for students with no prior programming experience.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completing this course, students will be able to:
  • Analyze the basics of programming, structuring algorithms, and data structures.
  • Apply the fundamentals of object oriented programming using Python
  • Manipulate datasets from government sources
  • Create your own python program by the end of the course

Instructor:
Phillip Ballo
is a library professional with significant involvement with maker technology. He currently holds two masters degrees in history and library and information sciences and often combines the two to make meaningful projects.

Online Course Format:
Students can expect to have access to course content in Canvas, University of Denver’s online learning platform, on January 13, 2021 or within one week of enrollment, whichever is later. Enrolled students will have until June 11, 2021 to complete course material. Enrollment for this course will close on May 28, 2021 to allow for adequate completion time.
