Why Ricks?

Ricks Center for Gifted Children is a nationally recognized model in the field of gifted education.  Ricks Center students are nurtured, respected, and challenged in unique ways that allow them to flourish and reach their full potential.

Faculty

Our faculty is specially trained to meet your gifted child’s exceptional learning needs.

  • The faculty at Ricks Center has a deep and profound understanding of giftedness and recognizes the importance of creating an environment where gifted children can thrive intellectually, creatively and emotionally.
  • Our staff and teachers have received numerous awards for excellence in the field of gifted education and are invited to speak at local, national and international conferences.
  • Our highly qualified teachers have an average of 14 years of classroom experience, and close to 75% either hold or are pursuing masters or doctoral degrees.
  • With an average student-teacher ratio of seven-to-one, our teachers can focus on the specific needs, learning styles, intellectual abilities and interests of each child.

  • Our students benefit from a variety of amenities and services, such as a world-class university library, performing arts center, health center, and athletic complex.
  • Ricks Center is an integral part of DU’s Morgridge College of Education (MCE). MCE provides faculty consultants, fundraising support, technology services, mentorships, and classroom opportunities for Ricks Center students and faculty.
