Welcome to the University of Denver.  Here, at the University, we are home to a multitude of thriving colleges, programs and institutes, each unique, yet each serving our mission to promote learning by engaging students in advancing scholarly inquiry, cultivating critical and creative thought, and generating new knowledge. Our students range from graduate students studying International Relations or Quantum Physics to toddlers forming their first theories regarding the world around them while learning to play with others.

Ricks Center for Gifted Children in the Morgridge College of Education exemplifies the achievement of our most critical goal: to provide an outstanding educational experience that empowers students to integrate and apply knowledge from across the disciplines and imagine new possibilities for themselves, their communities, and their world. This goal occurs within the context of a diverse, ethical, and intellectually vibrant campus community to provide a challenging and liberating learning environment

The faculty at Ricks Center instills ownership in the learning process and supports the children's natural love of learning, fostering a life-long passion for inquiry. The Ricks Center, partnered with the Institute for the Development of Gifted Education, provides comprehensive services to children, families and educators interested in the unique needs of this special population.

It is a genuine pleasure for all of our University faculty and staff to come into contact with our Ricks Center students as they perform on the University's Newman Center Stage, play against their competition at the Ritchie Center and even occasionally sit with our undergraduates in classes. These encounters continually remind us of the power of life-long learning.

The 25-year history of the Ricks Center is replete with examples of student success.  The University of Denver enthusiastically supports and partners with Ricks Center faculty as they dedicate themselves to excellence, innovation, engagement, integrity, and inclusiveness in gifted education.

I personally encourage you to visit Ricks Center for Gifted Children at the University of Denver. Here, you will have an opportunity to see educational dreams realized.
