Photography in Alaska

Description

This adventure filled experiential learning class will appeal to photographers at all levels of proficiency, from beginners to advanced. Working from a hotel base in Anchorage, Alaska, this week-long program of instruction is designed to: enhance your skill level while exploring the rich culture and wild landscapes of Alaska, through the lens of photography. From the Anchorage hotel base, the class will experience: sailing close to calving glaciers on a boat excursion from Whittier; take a day-hike on Matanuska Glacier, plus visit museums and galleries in and around Anchorage. Through field trip based camera instruction; classroom based critiques and discussion; visits to museums and galleries; (i.e. Anchorage Museum, Alaska Native Heritage Center and the Alaska Photographic Center) this class contains the ingredients necessary to enrich your world-view and gain proficiency as a photographer.

Approximate Travel Costs*

Airfare $500 - 800 (Students are responsible for making their own flight arrangements.)
Program Fee:  $1950.00(Program fees are applied to tuition bill. Fee covers lodging, two group meals, museum entrance fees and transit in Alaska. Program fees are non-refundable.)
Cancellation Fee: $1950.00(Billed to student account in the event the student drops the course.)
