ARTS 3701: Photography and Culture: Sweden and Finland

Travel Dates:  Arrive in Stockholm: Monday June 12, Return flight from Helsinki on June 20.

Description: This stimulating travel class engages photography as a catalyst, to introduce participants to the history and culture of Sweden and Finland. From bases in Stockholm and Helsinki, we will visit world-class history museums, art galleries and scenic locations, and in the process, gain appreciation for the historical and cultural evolution of the region. We meet in Stockholm, then travel by ferry across the Baltic Sea to Helsinki. Participants will actively celebrate their experience by documenting the Interterm Class through photography and writing assignments.

Approximate Travel Costs*:

Airfare: $800 (Students are responsible for making their own flight arrangements.) 
Program Fee:  $1700 (Covers all lodging, 3 group dinners, museum admission fees, in country transit, Ferry from Sweden to Finland)
Cancellation Fee: $1700 (Applied in the event student drops the course after having been officially registered.)

*Tuition fees apply and are in addition to travel expenses. These expenses are approximate and therefore subject to change.
