Most students meet at least two or three times with their coach. Topics are customized to fit your needs and include the following: goal setting, time management & organization, learning styles & strategies, study skills, test anxiety, major/minor exploration, connecting with campus resources, community building, growth mindset & resiliency, stress management & self care, and emotional intelligence.

What WILL I gain from meeting with a Student Success Coach?

Hi, I'm Rosie! I grew up in Connecticut and went to Brandeis University for my undergraduate degree. I triple majored and love the challenge of balancing a variety of work and subjects at one time. I recently moved to Denver to attend DU and am always curious about finding new restaurants to try out! I enjoy being a Student Success Coach because of the opportunity to work with enthusiastic and ambitious students and help them develop skills for academic and personal success. When I'm not working or studying, I can be found reading, cooking soup, working out, and once in a while sleeping! My favorite self-care strategies are reading and journaling nightly.

I received my undergraduate degree from Temple University and am now studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling and pursuing a master's at the University of Denver. Specifically, I am passionate about helping people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds receive mental health services, removing associated stigma, and making services available to all. In addition to my schooling, I work with children on the spectrum. As a behavioral therapist specializing in play therapy, I respect each child's individuality and work towards personalized goals. In my free time, I love spending time in nature and cooking something new and exciting for my friends and family.

Favorite Quote: "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." - Aristotle

I am a native of Upstate New York who loves skiing, plants, reading and cats. I received my Bachelor of Social Work from West Virginia University. I then worked as a Family Education Specialist and Crisis Center Counselor before deciding to switch career paths. My career goal is to be a part of large, systemic change in K-12 education by working to eliminate disparities faced by minoritized groups and destigmatize mental health. To cope with the stress that comes with being a student, I practice self-care by exercising, spending time outdoors, keeping a morning routine and eating well. My favorite part about being a Student Success Coach is watching my students grow in their confidence. It brings me so much happiness to guide them through the changes they are making and see their successes! I love to see students learn to believe in themselves and their abilities.

I was born in New York City but consider Tampa Bay my hometown! I attended the University of South Florida for my undergraduate degree where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and minor studies in Criminology. During my time as an undergraduate student, I also had the opportunity of being involved in a similar role where I met with students and helped them set/maintain healthy goals! I'm excited to be a coach and help other students set themselves up for success in a process where we can both learn great things from each other! I love going to new theme parks, concerts, and taking road trips whenever possible! I try to fit at least one self-care activity daily including taking a walk, deep breathing exercises, and connecting with my loved ones.

I am from New England, born and raised in Connecticut. A lover of all things coffee, tv, and dogs. I received my Bachelor of Political Science from Southern Connecticut State University. It was at a small consulting firm in Ghana where I realized my interest in security consulting and defense contracting. At the Josef Korbel School, I’m pursuing my M.A. in International Security and a Certificate in Homeland Security. Hopefully, this will allow me to identify the intersection of economic development and the private security industry. With these disciplines, I developed a passion for helping others engage in self-exploration, self-growth through storytelling, and community building. As a Student Success Coach, I hope to help students pursue their academic goals while also supporting their personal journey toward authenticity.
