First Year Students

Discoveries: Your Gateway to DU

Our goal at Discoveries is to make sure that you have a successful transition to the University of Denver. We match you with a current DU student (your Orientation Leader), who acts as your guide during Discoveries Orientation Welcome Week.

From registering for classes to finding out the best places to eat on-campus, your Orientation Leader and the rest of the Discoveries team will make sure you are well-informed and prepared for your first year at the University of Denver.

Discoveries Orientation and Your First Year Seminar (FSEM)

Your First Year Seminar or FSEM is your very first class at DU, and the only class you register for before you arrive on campus. Once you register for your FSEM you are automatically registered for Discoveries Orientation Welcome Week.

Find out more about FSEMs and how to register here.

Before arriving on campus, make sure to complete the actions items on this checklist to ensure you are ready to go!
