DU Dialogues

Flick & Feed/Back

(formerly Dinner & A Movie)

Each quarter, we view and discuss the social issues raised in a film over a light dinner. Open to any DU affiliate, this FREE series engages participants in dialogue about pop culture and diversity/social justice issues.

In the past, we have discussed films including: The Pursuit of Happyness, The Blind Side, X-Men 3: The Last Stand, The Devil Wears Prada, Slumdog Millionaire, Reign Over Me, Gran Torino, Ma Vie En Rose, Easy A, She's the Man, The Milagro Beanfield War, Brother Outsider: The Bayard Rustin Story, Mosquito y Mari Hairspray, and Entre Nos.

Stay tuned for upcoming events! And email with co-sponsorships interest and/or film suggestions!

Most recently, we partnered with the dept of Media, Film & Journalism Studies, for If These Halls Could Talk --a documentary about 11 college students who discuss what it is like on US campuses today.

Required online registration is open here in advance of scheduled events.

On-campus location details will be provided to registrants only; we are not able to accommodate drop-ins. (The online system will stop accepting registrations when capacity has been reached; in that case, please see the DU Diversity Portal for other upcoming events.)

NOTE: You must be present for the entire program (start of movie plus discussion) to participate. (Just eating and/or just watching the film with us is an entertaining evening, but is not the intended educational engagement.)
