Hurricane Harvey and Irma Support

Hurricane Harvey Support at DU

We at the University of Denver Student Outreach & Support office (SOS) are aware that many of our students come from areas impacted by hurricanes - including Texas, Florida and nearby areas, and may be directly impacted by the recent hurricane and hurricane threats. It is our goal to be able to provide support for these students. While some students may be able to reach out themselves, there may be some students who don’t have access to the internet or other forms of communication.

If you or someone you know has been directly impacted or may be directly impacted by either Hurricane Harvey or Irma, please complete the Hurricane Support form below and or call the support phone number.

Please remember that during times like this, it is important that we come together to support one another. We urge anyone who feels the need to do so to use the University resources available as follows:

 Culture of Care & Support

At the University of Denver, we engage in a Culture of Care & Support for individuals and the campus community to maintain their safety, health, and well-being. Through our holistic collaboration we can work together to ensure that our students are connected to the appropriate resources to meet their goals and develop new skills in navigating challenging experiences.

We continue to evolve this culture by:

  • Educating the students on the services available to support them
  • Collaborating across departments
  • Developing an environment where everyone understands their responsibility in noticing the well-being of those around them
  • Helping the campus community learn the skills to know when and how to intervene
  • Creating access to resources, document and refer students to the appropriate university office
