The Bridge Community Garden was created at DU in 2008 as a resource for students, faculty and community member. Originally funded by students in a partnership with Denver Urban Gardens, the garden is currently managed collaboratively by faculty, staff, and students with support from the Center for Sustainability and the USG Sustainability Community.

Located at the cross streets of Race and Iliff, the Bridge Community Garden receives applications to participate in the garden, and is filled annually, with two people sharing each plot. Denver Dining by Sodexo, the campus food service, also maintains several plots of herbs and vegetables for use in their kitchens. Working with a local beekeeper, honeybees were also added to the garden to improve pollination and provide a richer educational experience.

Students, faculty, and the Center for Sustainability have been working with Sodexo to provide more sustainable food options in our campus dining. Our most exciting accomplishment within the past few years has been the Real Food Challenge. Learn more about our work here.
