Background

Kathi has held the position of Assistant Vice President of Learning and Development at Genesee & Wyoming since 2013. Genesee & Wyoming Inc. is a short-line railroad holding company that owns or maintains interests in 120 railroads throughout five countries, and operates more than 15,500 miles of owned and leased track. Her responsibilities at G&W include facilitation of learning opportunities for the employees, as well as partnering with outside companies to enhance the learning and development experience for its employees through traditional learning venues, assessment, virtual learning and internal training initiatives. Kathi held the role of HR Director for RailAmerica from 2008 to 2013, prior to G&W acquiring RA. She has expertise in all facets of human resources management which includes employee relations, labor relations, recruiting, policy development, compensation & benefits, coaching and counseling and legal compliance. Kathi has worked as lead project manager on many HR initiatives during her tenure at CSX from 1998 through 2008. Prior to CSX, Kathi worked at Consolidated Rail Corporation (Conrail) as a Labor Relations Manager and Labor Relations Paralegal.

Kathi holds a Masters degree in Human Resources Management from Webster University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication & Business from Marymount University and an Associates degree in Communication from Cazenovia College
