University Academic Programs

Please join us on Wednesday, May 9th for the 2017 Undergraduate Research & Scholarship Symposium. This annual event showcases the exciting and impressive research, scholarship and creative works produced by our undergraduate students across campus.

This year, we're inviting our alumni community to volunteer to help judge student projects. We hope you will enjoy this excellent opportunity to connect with current students and learn about their academic endeavors.

We are seeking judges for the project competition! Judging will take place from 2:30-4:00pm, just before the symposium opens to the public.

Your role as a judge would be to review approximately 6-8 projects and provide a score for the four award categories. Judges will complete an electronic scoring form using a tablet device. You will also be asked to provide brief written feedback to the students. Prizes will be awarded in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each of the following four categories: 1) most innovative project, 2) best oral presentation, 3) project with the most impact (such as in the community, contributions to knowledge, or application to the field), and 4) best overall.

You may review student projects across multiple disciplines and methods. Projects include traditional research, creative works (such as musical pieces, visual arts, performance) and other scholarly works such as community-engaged projects.

To serve as a judge, please complete the event registration form found here and indicate your interest. For more information, please contact us at
