wellbeing innovators

The Wellbeing Innovators are a group of passionate, knowledgeable and helpful employees on campus representing their units to promote, communicate and serve as coaches to their co-workers. 

Please see the attached list to learn if you have an innovator in your unit. If you don't, please feel free to tap one of these phenomenal employees to help you. Innovators are trained in the following areas:

Lactation resources

The University is supportive of nursing mothers and has resources and policies to support employees. Human Resources provides workplace accommodations for nursing mothers. Information can be found in the employee handbook. The University has dedicated lactation rooms on campus:

  • Anderson Academic Commons  
    The lactation room is located on the third floor in room 358. Please use the door code 21500* to gain access. The room does not use a reservation system and operates on a first come, first served. Please contact Tessa Christensen at [email protected] with questions.
  • Daniels College of Business
    The lactation room is located on the first floor in room 106. The door will remain unlocked. Once entered please ensure you turn the lock to the locked position – label identifies locked position. The room does not use a reservation system and operates on a first come, first served. Please contact Monica Humble at [email protected] with questions.
  • Ricketson Law Building
    The SCOL provides a lactation room on the second floor and convenience areas in the women's restrooms on the north side of the building. The lactation room is located in room 247. It has a refrigerator and other amenities, including a breastpump. To use the SCOL breastpump, mothers will need to provide their own accessory kits compatible with the Medela Symphony pump. The lactation room is available to students, staff, faculty, and alumni. For access information, contact the Denver Law Student Affairs office at [email protected] or 303-781-6108.
  • Sturm Hall
    A lactation room is available in Sturm Hall, room 404. This room is equipped with a small refrigerator, open electrical outlets for breast pumps and other devices, and a comfortable chair. If you would like access to this room, please contact the Front Desk in the AHSS Dean's suite room 457 or call 303-871-4449. This office will issue you a key for the duration of your need. Please note that since more than one person may have a key at any given time, we will have an "occupied" sign available that those using the room may wish to place on the door knob.
  • The Chambers Center
    This lactation space is located in room 290 of the Chambers Center. This space is located behind a locked suite. Please contact [email protected] or 303-871-6453 for more information, including the door code.

wellness/meditation spaces

The Morgridge College of Education is sponsoring a wellness room in Ruffato Hall Room 224. Room is available to faculty, staff and students during business hours of M-F 7am - 8pm and Sat 7am - 5pm. You are invited to use this space for prayer, meditation, relaxation or lactation. Please use whiteboard on outside of door to indicate use, and room is first come first served. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Eric Mareck, building manager at 303.871.2325.

Coors Fitness Center

Significant discounts are available for DU staff and faculty. Contact the Division of Athletics and Recreation to learn more.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

DU faculty and staff are eligible for free counseling on campus. Contact the Health and Counseling Center to learn more.

The Office of Environmental Health & Safety can assist you with ergonomic questions, concerns and assessments.

Health webinars & resources

Both live and recorded webinars are available. You do NOT need to be a Kaiser member.

Topics include: preventing diabetes, high cholesterol, sleep problems, and heart disease, as well as losing weight quitting tobacco, the benefits of acupuncture and parenting with love and logic.
