Fences is a recent classic of American Realism but is often produced with
a romantic glow. For this production the director asked for a dirtier back
alley. For the lighting 4 different basic angles were used from USL (early
morning) through DSL to DSR (early evening). Practicals consisted of industrial
work lights and the porch light.
