About: Dr. Sheila E. Schroeder has been making films for 30+ years, most recently as the creator of Project DU F.I.L.M. (film initiative linking mentors). The goal of Project DU F.I.L.M. is to change the face of filmmaking both in front of and behind the camera by creating intentionally diverse stories and recruiting a variety of alumni and students to participate in making short films together. This experiential mentorship program has resulted in two completed award-winning films, Happy F-ing Valentine's Day, a short narrative about unlikely cupids, and Scary Lucy, a short comedy about Lucille Ball, statues and breast cancer. Dr. Schroeder's films span genre (documentaries and narratives) and form (short to feature) and have played in nearly 100 film festivals across the globe.
