Midden Area

Even small pieces of artifacts can help archaeologists determine the activities of people in the past. Although the artifact pictured below is only the top portion of a bottle it does offer information on when it was made and what was probably in it. The seams along the lid relate to the technology used to make the bottle. A bottle's color usually marked its contents as with blue for medicinal contents, green for wine and soda, brown was often used for liquor or beer. With this information we can identify what strikers and their families were eating and drinking.
