At the University of Denver, the script calls for plenty of comedy, tragedy and satire.

Professional touring companies from far and wide come to the Newman Center for the Performing Arts to stage the classics and the soon-to-be classics, such as MacHomer, billed as "The Simpsons does Macbeth."

DU's own community is always raising the curtain on a new show. Every fall, winter and spring quarter, the Department of Theatre puts on a large student production—a play, an opera or a musical.

Smaller shows are presented throughout the year—all written, directed and/or produced by students.

If the stage is calling to you, feel free to audition for a part. Or consider helping out behind stage, testing your skills as a sound designer, costumer or makeup artist.
