Webmail
WebMail lets you access your DU email directly through the Web using your browser. By using Webmail, you can read, send, and manage your DU email from anywhere in the world. WebMail works best with the most current versions of Netscape or Microsoft Internet Explorer.
To access and configure Webmail for your DU account, follow these steps:
-
Go to the new Webmail page at: https://mail.du.edu
-
In the Server field, select your DU email server. For most people, this will be mail.du.edu .
-
In the ID field, type your 9-digit DU ID number . This is your student ID number on your Student ID card.
-
In the Passcode field, type your 6-character secret passcode. As you type each character of your passcode, an * is displayed, so that no one can see your passcode.
-
After you type in your passcode, click on the Log In button. If your login is successful, WebMail will display a Web page listing the email messages you have in your email inbox.
Using WebMail
To open a new email message, make sure your Inbox folder is highlighted. Then click on the Subject line of the message you wish to read. When you have finished reading a message, you may check the box at the far left in the same row, and click the Delete icon.
To create a message, click the Compose button and follow the on-screen directions to send a new email message.
Go to Options tab to change default appearance, settings, number of messages displayed, and mail forwarding.
Logging Out
When you finish using WebMail, it is very important to actually log out of the system by clicking on the log-out link at the top of the window. Do not close WebMail by clicking on the "X" in the upper right corner of your browser.
