Connecting your iPhone to webmail via IMAP

First go into your Settings, Mail, and add an account. The type we want is IMAP.

Most of this information is the same that you will use to access webmail. The outgoing server, however, is not through DU. Our email servers only allow email to be sent from an on-campus computer, so a different outgoing server is necessary. Your provider will be able to give you information on using their servers, for example smtp.verizon.net.

For our example, we will be using a gmail account for the outgoing server.

The outgoing server will require a credentials unique to that service and different from your DU credentials.

Under Advanced options, make sure that SSL is set to OFF.
