Wireless IMAP on Windows Mobile

This guide is to sync email onto your device using IMAP. This option will bring only email to your device, not calendars etc. If you are using Pop3 in Outlook, make sure that you have it set to leave a copy of your messages on the server. (Click here for details.)

This guide only works if you have a data plan from your provider. An essential part of this set up has to come from your provider. They will be able to tell you the necessary settings for the Outgoing server.

From the Start menu on your device, click on Messaging. From here you may have to choose Outlook E-mail.

From the Menu list select Tools or Options, and then 'New Account.'

Enter your DU email address, and then click next. At the auto-config screen, click next again to skip.

Enter your full name, your short username and webmail password.

Be sure to not select anything other than IMAP4.

Now, this is where we need some information from your provider. The incoming server is mail.du.edu, but the outgoing is dependent on your provider. Once you have that entered in, press finish and your mail will sync shortly.
