** All Lamont majors (except B.M. Audio Production Concentration) please make sure your laptop has a built-in microphone or web cam for recording lessons, rehearsals, etc. and for use in Music Technology class. The built-in microphone should come standard with the MAC recommendation. If you purchase something else please make sure built-in mic or web cam is included.

B.M. Audio Production Concentration minimum requirement.

• Operating System: Macintosh OS 10.4 or above

• Software: Microsoft Office 2008 Professional for MAC (DU Bookstore sells for $75)
  Do NOT purchase Virtual PC!

• Processor Speed: 2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

• Memory: 2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM  - 2x1GB

• Hard Drive: 200GB @ 7200 RPM drive - Very Important: Do NOT buy the larger 250 GB drive @ 5400 RPM.

• Optical Storage Drive: Superdrive (CD-RW & DVD-RW)

• Video: 256 MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1600

• Network Card: Integrated 10/100/1000 Mbps

• Wireless: Airport Extreme AND Bluetooth

• Warranty: 3 years parts and labor (AppleCare Protection Plan)

• Ethernet cable: These are required for wired connections on campus. They can be bought at the bookstore. Please bring your cable to your laptop configuration session during orientation.

Recommended for all other music majors:

• Operating System: Macintosh OS 10.4 or above

• Software: Microsoft Office 2004 Professional for MAC (DU Bookstore sells for $69)
  Do NOT purchase Virtual PC!

• Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

• Memory: 2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM  - 2x1GB

• Hard Drive: 160GB, 5400 RPM drive

• Optical Storage Drive: Superdrive (CD-RW & DVD-RW)

• Network Card: Integrated 10/100/1000 Mbps

• Wireless: Airport Extreme AND Bluetooth
