On May 13, 2013, Dr. John Ambler, Vice President, Strategy for Oxfam America, spoke to students at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies about averting a worldwide food crisis.  Dr. Ambler argued that the new looming crisis in world food production has a different character than past crises and that confronting it will require a different and more diverse response to avert humanitarian catastrophe, especially for the world's most vulnerable people. A successful response demands reform in national and international policies, key agricultural institutions and foreign aid.
