Stephanie Jones

Humanitarian Assistance Student Stephanie Jones

Stephanie Jones is an MA candidate in International Development.  She is also pursuing a certificate in Humanitarian Assistance and works as a research assistant with the Humanitarian Assistance Applied Research Group at Josef Korbel School of International Studies. Stephanie is particularly interested in alleviating human suffering and meeting immediate needs during sudden-onset crises, through diligent logistical planning and rapid, responsible program implementation in the early stages of a humanitarian emergency.

Prior to coming to Korbel, Stephanie worked for Exponential Education in Ghana, managing credit-for-education development programs in two rural villages.  She also co-founded a leadership program for adolescent Ghanaian girls, focusing on empowerment, critical thinking, and sexual education.  Stephanie has also worked in a Cairo-based development NGO, supporting vulnerable Coptic communities, as well as a DC-based social justice nonprofit. 

She received her BS in Economics and a BA in International Affairs from the University of Mary Washington.  She is fluent in German.
