2021 New Member Initiation and Graduate Celebration was held virtually Wednesday evening, June 9th.

We'll follow up ASAP with newly initiated members about picking up or mailing your membership certificates. (Your election was already reported to the Registrar for inclusion in Commencement programs.)

Elected students not able to participate on 6/9 can contact Dr Barrett, as we work on a make-up initiation this summer.

Past Events

  • 2020 initiation and graduate celebration, 11 June via Zoom. Open/download an event program (PDF here), and view a recording of the ~1 hour ceremony on the DU Mediaspace site. We've mailed new members their certificates.
  • Spring 2020 Chapter meeting, including new member election, Thursday afternoon, 23 April via Zoom. We understand there were, and apologize for, technical notice/connection issues for some members.
  • Undergraduate Scholars Showcase, on 2 March, where undergraduate student members from a wide variety of disciplines gave brief presentations about their current research or creative work.
  • Winter 2020 Chapter meeting on 28 January, with senior Reanna Magruder and Dr Ashley Hamilton, who shared about their work with the DU Prison Arts Initiative.
  • Fall 2019 Chapter meeting on 30 October
  • Fall 2019 member mixer on 4 October, at Vicki Myhren Gallery (Schwayder Art Bldg). Preceded by new member initiation (carryover from spring) in The Hub on Driscoll Green.
  • 2019 initiation and welcome banquet, on 13 June, at Newman Center for the Performing Arts
  • Contesting Hate: A Critical Response to Christchurch --faculty roundtable on 30 May 2019. Sponsored with the departments of Languages & Literatures, Religious Studies, History, and Political Science; the Office of the Dean (CAHSS); the Center for Middle East Studies; the Center for Judaic Studies; the Center on American Politics; and the Office of Information Technology.
