  • Submit a completed Transfer Pioneer Application  or Transfer Common Application (we accept either application).
  • Submit an essay (included in the application form).
  • Pay a $65 non-refundable application fee (check, money order or online payments accepted). If financial hardship is present, fee waivers are granted upon request on a case-by-case basis. Please speak with appropriate personnel at your school to assess applicability. We will accept fee waiver forms from reputable sources (NACAC, for example).
  • Submit official transcripts from all college-level study attempted at previous and/or current institutions.
  • Optional: Submit a teacher, professor or advisor recommendation.
  • If you have completed less than one year of college study (30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours), you must also submit:
    •  An official secondary school transcript
    •  Official results of the SAT and/or ACT

Additional or different steps are required for:

  • Adult Students - Applicants who are 24 years of age or older and have completed some college-level study at another institution may use the transfer version of either application and have the option of submitting a letter of recommendation from an employer.
  • Music Majors - A music audition is required. Contact the Lamont School of Music at 303-871-6973 to arrange your audition.
  • Art/Design Majors - BFA programs require the submission of a portfolio. Portfolios can also be submitted for scholarship consideration. Contact the Art Department at 800-876-3323 for submission instructions.
  • Business Majors - The Daniels College of Business requires a secondary application process to pursue a business major. Students transferring to DU from other institutions must work directly with the Undergraduate Admission transfer coordinator. A professional resume is required.
