Viewing/Accepting Award

Through the Office of Financial Aid website, you will find important information about types of financial aid as well as the terms and conditions of awards.

WebCentral is your resource to access the status of your financial aid requirements and awards. You can view, accept and decline your awards under the Student tab. You will need your DU ID and passcode.

Please remember that you will need to reapply for financial aid each year to maintain eligibility. The priority deadline for new students to apply is February 15; for continuing students, the priority deadline is March 15.

Applying for loans

Upon acceptance of a Subsidized and/or Unsubsidized Direct loan, you will be required to complete a Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling. Both steps can be completed online by logging into StudentLoans.gov with your FAFSA PIN. Confirmation that you have satisfied these requirements will not be available via webCentral until after June 1, 2012.

If your parent is interested in applying for a Parent PLUS Loan, they should do so after June 1, 2012. The Office of Financial Aid will not begin originating loans for the 2012-2013 academic year until after this date. The Parent PLUS Loan requires a credit check prior to approval, and is valid for 90 days. To apply for a Parent PLUS Loan, parents need to complete both a Master Promissory Note and an Application, using their own PIN, online at StudentLoans.gov.

Tuition & fees

The cost of attendance is determined by calculating direct costs (tuition, fees, room and board) and estimating indirect costs (books, transportation, personal expenses). To help you better understand all the direct costs on your first bill, please see the explanations below along with the projected cost of attendance.

TUITION

Tuition for the 2012-2013 regular academic year (Fall, Winter and Spring quarters) is $12,744 per quarter for all undergraduate students enrolled in 12 through 18 quarter hours. Students registering for more than 18 hours, including courses for no-credit, will be charged the hourly rate of $1026 per quarter hour for hours in excess of 18.

HEALTH INSURANCE

The health insurance premium is assessed to all undergraduate students. The health insurance is charged to your billing statement each fall and spring quarter. If you have adequate coverage, you may waive the insurance by completing a waiver form on myWeb.

HEALTH AND COUNSELING FEE

The Student Health and Counseling fee of $150 is assessed each quarter and is mandatory for all undergraduate students. The Health and Counseling fee allows students to take advantage of cost-effective, high quality medical and mental health care at the Health and Counseling Center for minimal out-of-pocket cost.

STUDENT TECHNOLOGY FEE

To enhance opportunities for technology use in and out of the classroom, a quarterly technology fee will be charged to all DU students. Students taking 12-18 hours will be assessed a $48 technology fee, with an additional $4 assessed for each additional credit hour.

STUDENT ACTIVITY FEE

A student activity fee of $117 per quarter is assessed to all undergraduate students. In addition to funding student activities, the fee includes an RTD bus and lightrail pass.
