Jazz-music heavyweight to perform, speak at DU
Ben Sidran—an American musician known for his jazz stylings and work with such artists as The Rolling Stones and the Steve Miller Band—will share musical stories and performances on campus at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, in the Hamilton Recital Hall of the Newman Center for the Performing Arts.
The event, "There was a Fire: Jews, Music and the American Dream," is based off Sidran's 2012 book of the same name. It weaves together themes throughout Jewish history, from Irving Berlin to Bob Dylan.
Buy tickets, $18 each, through the Newman Center's online ticketing site, or by phone at 303-871-7720.
