Updates on the University of Denver’s implementation of the DEI Action Plan
The University of Denver launched our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Action Plan in August 2020 after campus-wide consultation and feedback. The following updates represent the steps we have taken to bring our commitments into action.
Importantly, DU recognizes, especially at the unit and college level, individuals and committees have been supporting DEI work for years or even decades previously. We will continue to provide routine updates on how we are making DU a diverse, inclusive and equitable institution.

Support for 2020-2021 DEI Action Plan
December 15, 2020
In building capacity toward the DEI Action Plan, the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI) has hired two program coordinators to support the work of the plan. Starting on December 11, Mari Henderson and Clara Kapustka, both DU alums, will collaborate with constituents to implement the DEI Action Plan.
ODEI Announces Funding for Programming and Learning about Antiracism

We are soliciting proposals up to $5,000 from University of Denver students, staff, and faculty representing departments, offices, units, and campus organizations to support programming and/or learning opportunities to explore antiracism.

As we begin the 2020-2021 academic year, DU’s DEI work will engage in five areas of impact, each with specific action items, aimed at securing leadership, taking action, and increasing accountability and consistency across the university. This action plan will serve as a new platform as we enter into the next stages of our vision for a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive DU.
