Identity Resources
As we strive to become a more inclusive and socially equitable institution, the University of Denver has taken steps to provide our students the identity resources they need to feel welcome and valued within our community.
Preferred First Names & Chosen/Lived/Professional Names
DU realizes that a person's legal name is not necessarily the name they choose to use or prefer to be called. With this in mind, we have implemented the use of our constituents' preferred names wherever and whenever possible.
Personal Pronouns
In order to recognize our community members more accurately and inclusively, the University has added fields to our information systems that allow for self-identification by gender identity and preferred pronouns.
