Sexual Assault Awareness Summit

Date: Friday, April 24
Time: 9:00am - 5:30pm

The Graduate Women's Council, the Undergraduate Women's Council, GWST and CME are partnering to host a Sexual Assault Awareness Summit. The goal of the Summit is to bring together leaders from across Front Range campuses and community organizations to share strategies, successes and challenges in countering gender violence and sexual assault in our campus communities. We are hoping that new campus initiatives are created out of these discussions. The summit will feature a breakfast and luncheon and breakout sessions. Michelle Spradling from the Sexual Assault Interagency Council will be the keynote speaker. Register now to guarantee yourself a spot!

Bra Drive and Fundraiser for Free the Girls

Date: Saturdays, April 4th through May 2nd
Time: Noon - 1:30pm
Location: Colorado Women's College Lounge or Lobby

Free the Girls is a non-profit organization that provides job opportunities to women rescued from sex trafficking.  Many of the women rescued make a living selling second-hand clothing…specifically bras!  Bras are sought after items…and allow women to work with other women.  Dig into that drawer and find a slightly used bra, or buy a new one and donate it to the cause!  A collection box will be in the CWC Lounge at all times.

Women on the 20

Women On 20s, with your help, aims to compel historic change by convincing President Obama that NOW is the time to put a woman's face on our paper currency. With over 256,000 voters casting ballots over the last 5 weeks, Americans have chosen which of the 15 inspiring American women heroes will go on to the Final Round of voting. And now we reveal that Eleanor Roosevelt, Harriet Tubman and Rosa Parks are the people’s choice and will advance to the final ballot for your consideration. In addition, Cherokee Chief Wilma Mankiller has been added to the final ballot by popular demand in order to include a choice of a Native American to replace Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill.

The Final Round ballot awaits you on the Voting page.
