Welcome to the 2012 Annual Legal and Policy UpdateThis site is for individuals who have been identified as having job responsibilities that require understanding of and compliance with DU policies and federal, state, or local laws and regulations. Each year, employees who manage people and programs are asked to participate in the Annual Legal & Policy update. These employees play a key role in ensuring a positive and productive work environment at the University. Because the legal landscape around the University continuously changes, this workshop is designed to inform managers, supervisors and ambassadors of the University about new or revised laws, changes or updates to policies and practices, along with trends and forecasts related to the DU community. Identified individuals were notified mid-October by email of their requirement to complete this annual workshop. Identified employees must (1) attend one of the instructor-led sessions OR (2) complete the online version of the workshop. Option 1: Upcoming 2012 Annual Legal & Policy Update Public Sessions
Registration is through webCentral, employee tab, training (lower right) then Workplace Law & Policy. Space is limited to 110 per session. Session Materials
Option 2: Online Course An online version will be made available after the final public session. Individuals who have not attended a public session will be notified when the online version is ready. You will need to complete the online course and quiz prior to Jan. 31, 2013. NOTE: This workshop is different from Workplace Law for New DU Employees. If you have questions about whether or not your position requires this training, please contact your Division Human Resources Liaison. Human Resources will conduct a classification review if there are questions about the appropriate classification of your position in Banner system. After Wednesday, December 12, to complete the online training:
If you have questions about the Annual Legal & Policy Update Initiative or registration, cancellation and online training, contact Aimee Neu at aimee.neu@du.edu or phone 303-871-3307. The Chancellor's Office supports this annual initiative and views legal, fiduciary, and management control concerns to be a major responsibility of managers at the University. Thank you for your participation! |
