Emergencies

In life-threatening emergencies (crimes in progress, fire, serious injury), first call 911, then call Campus Safety at 303-871-3000 from a personal phone, extension 13000 from a campus phone, or access a blue-light emergency phone.

Emergency phones
Blue-light emergency phones are located in several strategic points on campus. These phones are marked by a blue light and have direct line to Campus Safety disbatch: just pick up the receiver and the connection is automatic, including automatically sending location information to Campus Safety.

There are 40 blue-light phones on campus, almost half of which are located in campus parking lots and parking structures. A complete map of the blue-light system is available at Campus Safety: Emergency Phones Map.

Property Registration
Bicycle registration is free and provided by the City of Denver. Bicycles may be registered with the City on the municipal Bicycle Registration Form.

Laptop and other computer registration is free and provided by University Technology Services (UTS). Computer registration can help UTS track a computer on campus in the event of a theft. To register a computer, go to DUnet Registration.

For more information on property registration, please visit: Campus Safety's Property Registration page.

SafeRide
Available to anyone with a DU Pioneer ID Card, SafeRide is a program initiated by DU students to ensure the safety needs of the University community. It provides dedicated van transportation services on campus during the academic year.

Rape Aggression Defense Training
Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women that focuses on awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and risk avoidance. Although it is not a martial arts program, R.A.D. also includes an introduction to basic hands-on physical defense skills.

R.A.D. training is offered by the University through R.A.D. Systems. Courses are taught by nationally certified R.A.D. Instructors and each student is provided with a workbook and reference manual, as well as access to R.A.D. Systems' free lifetime return and practice policy.

To register for classes or request additonal information, contact Campus Safety.
