Certificate for Online Professional Development

Earn a Professional Development Certificate for completing online courses. We offer certificates of accomplishment when you complete five online courses under the same curriculum.
 

How do I get started?

Select one of the online course curricula (subject areas) and explore the courses offered under each category. Once you have decided what topic you want to focus on, select FIVE online courses that you will take for your certificate. (See online course curricula.)

Three courses must be within the same category, and up to two courses may be from related categories under the same curriculum. (See examples)

Example #1

You may earn a certificate for Business Writing (Communication Curriculum) by taking three of the courses under Business Writing Essentials and two courses from High Impact Business Writing OR Writing to Maximize Business Results OR Business Grammar Essentials.

Example #2

You may earn a certificate for Customer Relationship Management (Customer Service Curriculum) by taking three of the courses under Customer Relationship Management and one course each from Measuring Customer Satisfaction AND How to Excel at Customer Service.

Example #3

You may earn a certificate for Project Management (Project Management Curriculum) by taking five of the six courses under Professional Project Management.

Upon completing the courses, how do I apply for a certificate?

After you have completed the FIVE online courses, download and complete the certificate application form (.doc) and submit it to DU Training and Development (Human Resources). We will send the certificate to your Department Head / Manager by campus mail.
